Welcome to Mercy Bridges
Mercy Bridges is a non-profit organization that teaches people how to read and write in the English language. Our English language "learners" are immigrants and refugees who have resettled in the greater Rochester area from all over the world. In addition, many native-born American citizens who live in Rochester have also reached out to us for help to improve their ability to read and write!

I followed Don Kao, a Chinese American LGBT activist, around for weeks on an assignment from New York Times photo editor James Estrin. I captured this moment of Don helping a woman fill out paperwork. It exemplifies how hands-on and willing to help Don is, especially among LGBTQ youth.

We Need You!!!

Waiting lists for literacy services are lengthy locally and nationally. Please, help make a difference for those who are eager to learn and improve their lives in their families and communities with your financial support, your prayers, your connecting a learner with tutoring services or possibly volunteering as a tutor. please contact us at [email protected]
